Michaels to Unveil New Store Concept at Remodeled Irving Location With Community Celebration

IRVING, Texas. Michaels is bringing its new store concept to its hometown of Irving, with a grand opening celebration planned later this month at its newly remodeled location.

The event will take place Friday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will mark the second Michaels store in North America to feature the retailer's redesigned format.

The location of Michaels at MacArthur Park is 7635 N MacArthur Blvd in North Irving.

Michaels CEO David Boone will kick off the celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m., followed by a day of free family-friendly activities, demonstrations and community events.

According to the company, the reimagined store is designed to provide a more interactive shopping experience with expanded services, hands-on activities and spaces for community events. New features include inspiration displays for home décor and celebrations, customization stations, candle-making experiences, flexible classroom space and an upgraded party and event area.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day, including a local maker craft fair, live music, games, balloon artists, face painting and a photo booth. Demonstrations will showcase birthday party options, embroidery, sewing and live painting.

Michaels will also celebrate the opening alongside several Irving community partners, including the Irving Fire Department, Irving Police Department, Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, Irving Girls Cheerleader Association, Nimitz High School Band, the Boys & Girls Clubs and Raising Cane's.

Company officials said the new format is part of Michaels' broader transformation strategy aimed at making stores more community-focused while expanding customer services and product offerings.

In addition to enhanced custom framing and same-day printing, customers will find expanded personalization services, balloon services, classes, birthday parties and broader selections in categories including knitting, sewing and party supplies.

The remodeled Irving store represents one of the first locations in a planned rollout of the new concept across North America.
