GARLAND, Texas - Garland police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another person wounded Friday night at an apartment complex.
According to the Garland Police Department, officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. on July 17 to a report of a gunshot disturbance in the 300 block of River Fern Drive.
When officers arrived, they found a man in an enclosed stairwell suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
While processing the scene, investigators learned that another individual had arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police believe that person may have been involved in the same incident.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators have not announced whether any suspects have been identified or whether any arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing.
