Irving Fire Responds To Hazmat Spill At Grauwyler Road

On January 26, 2022 at 2:30 pm, the Irving Fire Department responded to a HazMat spill at E. Grauwyler Road and Recognition Point Dr.   The first emergency personnel were on-scene at 2:36 pm.   A total of 6 pieces of emergency equipment were sent to the scene.  There were zero injuries reported.

Upon further investigation, it's been reported that an unknown size natural gas line has been damaged and was releasing gas into the air.   Irving's HazMat team responded to the scene and isolated the area.   Irving Police was also involved in diverting traffic away from the area due to the dangerous nature of the situation.  E. Garuwyler road was closed from Union Bower to the service road of John Carpenter Frwy.  Atmos Energy was also notified and they are sending a response team to the scene.  

Update:  Atmos Energy arrived and solved the issue with the gas line leak.
