At approximately 12:00 pm, there was a fight in the parking lot of Nimitz HS where an individual fired off at least one gunshot. Nimitz was placed in lockdown, and Irving Police responded to the area.
The suspect's vehicle was stopped, and two individuals were taken into custody.
There are no injuries. IPD SROs are currently taking Nimitz out of lockdown. School release will be at the regular time. We will have extra personnel on campus for the remainder of the day.
