The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on southbound Loop 12 earlier this morning.
At 8:50 am this morning, Dallas Police and Fire Rescue responded to a crash in the southbound lanes of Loop 12 near Interstate 30.
Investigators say a driver had been involved in a minor accident on the highway and had exited the vehicle. The individual attempted to cross the highway, but was struck by a passing vehicle not originally involved in the minor accident. The person died at the scene.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene.
Loop 12 has been reopened following the accident investigation.
