Irving Police arrested two Irving ISD students on May 5, 2023 after being tipped off that a student at MacArthur High School was threatened with violence.
The school district originally received the tip based on a personal argument going on between students at the school.
Irving ISD sent an email to parents informing them that security department personnel and Irving police officers intercepted the students as they arrived on campus on friday.
The school was put on "hold" while a sweep of the school was completed.
The search results in two prohibited weapons being found after which the district determined the threat was credible.
According to Irving ISD officials, they said that added screenings will be implemented for the remainer of the school year to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff.
