The Arlington Police Department responded to a distressing incident on Saturday, July 1, 2023, when they received reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Forest Hollow Lane. The incident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m., leaving a 33-year-old male dead.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the lifeless body of the victim, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, lying unresponsive on a second-floor landing. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members.
Witnesses at the scene recounted the events leading up to the shooting to investigators. According to their statements, the victim had engaged in a physical altercation with another male just moments before the gunfire erupted. After the altercation was broken up, the victim proceeded to follow the other individual to a second-floor apartment. Moments later, multiple shots rang out, and the suspected shooter promptly fled the scene.
Law enforcement authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
