Dallas Police Arrest Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Kidnapping and Sexual Assault of a Child

In a dramatic turn of events, the Dallas Police successfully apprehended Leonard Neal on Thursday afternoon, putting an end to a manhunt that lasted several weeks. Neal, who was wanted on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Kidnapping, and Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, was taken into custody at approximately 4:02 pm near the intersection of Polk and Camp Wisdom.

The arrest was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the U.S. Marshal North Texas Fugitive Task Force and local patrol officers. Acting on a tip, law enforcement agents were able to track down Neal's whereabouts and close in on him swiftly. However, as officers approached the suspect, Neal inflicted injuries upon himself, prompting them to call for immediate medical assistance.

Upon the arrival of the Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) team, Neal was quickly attended to and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The exact nature and severity of his injuries have not been disclosed at this time.

Neal had been identified as the kidnapper of 7-year-old Lillie May Anderson and her brother.
