At 10:51 am the Irving Fire Department received a call reporting a fire in the balcony of a third-floor apartment in the 300 block of West Fork.
Our first units arrived on scene within 5 minutes and reported light smoke in the area and began investigating. A small fire was discovered, in the floor's void space between the 2nd and third floors.
Out of an abundance of caution, command had crews begin to ensure the building was evacuated. command immediately escalated the call to a second alarm for additional manpower. Thankfully, everyone was evacuated safely, there were no reported injuries. The fire was called under control at 11:14 am. There were 18 units on scene.
5 units were affected. The Fire Department is coordinating with the apartment management, Irving's Office of Emergency Management, and The Red Cross to help those affected in this tough time.

By 11:14 am, the fire had been brought under control, despite the intensity of the situation. The coordinated effort involved 18 units from the Fire Department, working in tandem to extinguish the blaze and ensure the safety of the residents.
Five units within the apartment building were affected by the fire, but due to the efficient evacuation and firefighting efforts, there were no reported injuries. The Irving Fire Department is currently collaborating with the apartment management, Irving's Office of Emergency Management, and The Red Cross to provide assistance to those affected by this incident.
