Cleburne Police Recover Body of Driver After Fiery Crash

At approximately 3:00 am on August 19, 2023, emergency responders from Cleburne Fire/EMS and Police rushed to the scene of a significant accident involving a vehicle fire in the 2300 block of S. Main Street (Highway 174), close to Old Foamy Road.

Authorities from the Cleburne Police Department have reported that the incident centered around a single vehicle, which subsequently caught fire following the collision. Firefighters promptly worked to extinguish the flames, subsequently discovering the remains of the driver within the vehicle.

As a result of the incident, lanes along the affected roadway were temporarily closed to facilitate a thorough investigation by law enforcement officers. Once the scene was examined and the wreckage cleared, the roadway was reopened to traffic.

Presently, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain subject to ongoing investigation by local authorities. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
