On September 2, 2023, Harris County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a crash at 23340 FM-2100 @ E. FM-1960 in Northeast Houston.
The crash involved one-vehicle. 32-year-old Emmanuel Camacho-Patino was driving a GMC Sierra 1500 pickup with his 10-year-old child as his passenger.
The rear driver side rear tire blew out, causing Camacho-Patino to lose control of the truck and went into a rollover.
The child, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials determined that the driver, Camacho-Patino was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with Felony Murder.
"Driving after drinking is deadly…these things are very avoidable. Every child deserves a designated driver.", said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez in a statement.
