On August 16, 2023, a Lewisville Patrol Officer patrolling Central Park noticed a vehicle inside the park after hours. The officer initiated an investigation into the city ordinance violation and detained two individuals found inside the vehicle. Subsequently, the officer established probable cause to search the vehicle and discovered approximately 7 ounces of marijuana, which appeared to be packaged for sale, along with drug sales paraphernalia and a .40 caliber handgun.
The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Marcus Baker of Lewisville, was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 4 ounces and Unlawful Carrying of a weapon.
