On the afternoon of September 20, 2023, at approximately 4:15 pm, ewisville police responded to a shooting incident at the Raising Cane’s fast-food restaurant located in the 1000 block of Main Street, which is next to the the High School stadium.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 17-year-old male student from Lewisville High School suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The young victim succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Medical City Lewisville.
During the course of their investigation, law enforcement officials observed a vehicle leaving the vicinity of the incident. Following a pursuit, police successfully apprehended a juvenile suspect in connection with the shooting.
The victim has been identified as Skylar Ashton Marquel London. Police have revealed that the suspect is a juvenile, but not a student at Lewisville High School.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic situation. At this time we are respecting the privacy of the student's family, and will be there to offer whatever assistance we can when they are ready.", said Lewisville ISD in a statement.
The investigation is ongoing.
