The Lewisville Police Department has taken 19-year-old Jesstun Markee Conner into custody in connection with the fatal shooting incident that took place on Thursday, Oct. 5, in the 200 block of E. Round Grove Road.

Conner, who was initially identified as a victim with a gunshot wound to his hand, was arrested on Saturday morning and is now facing charges of Manslaughter. He is currently being held at Denton County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

The victim, 15-year-old Lamarcus Dewayne Winn, lost his life due to a gunshot wound to the chest during the incident.

According to the preliminary investigation, Conner and Winn arrived at the parking lot in the 200 block of E. Round Grove Road in a black Porsche Macan SUV, intending to purchase marijuana from another individual. Around 2 p.m., a group of men arrived at the scene in a Chrysler model vehicle. An exchange of gunfire ensued between the occupants of both vehicles, with multiple individuals from both parties firing shots.

During the chaos, Conner exited the Porsche and was shot in the hand. As he attempted to re-enter the vehicle, he inadvertently collided with Winn, who had taken cover behind a backseat door. In the collision, Conner's gun discharged, striking Winn in the chest and fatally injuring him. Conner placed Winn inside the Porsche and left the scene. The vehicle was later discovered at a nearby apartment complex after Conner called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

Conner is charged with Manslaughter because this appears to be an accidental shooting of Winn.

The investigation into this shooting is ongoing as Lewisville Police Department is still searching for the suspects in the Chrysler who took off from the parking lot scene.
