The Forest Hill Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred early morning on October 11, 2023, at David K. Sellars Elementary School.
At approximately 6:50am, Forest Hill police responded to reports of a shooting and discovered an adult female victim in the school's parking lot. Despite immediate medical attention, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased after being transported to John Peter Smith Hospital.
The woman has been identified as a school employee who worked in the Cafeteria.
Police investigators believe the victim knew the killer as she was seen speaking with a person in another vehicle after arriving to work.
The suspect fled the scene in a silver-colored Chevrolet Impala according to Officials. That vehicle was later located unoccupied in Fort Worth.
As of now, there is no available information about the suspect involved in the incident, leaving the authorities with an ongoing investigation.
In response to the incident, the Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD) issued a statement expressing their condolences and ensuring the safety of their students and staff. According to the statement, the victim was a cherished staff member of the school, deeply dedicated to her role and greatly admired by both students and colleagues.
