The Fort Worth Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own, Lieutenant Garey Pugh, who tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Lieutenant Pugh, who served the City of Fort Worth for 34 years, was 56 years old.
In a statement released by the department, they expressed their profound sadness and offered condolences to Lieutenant Pugh's family. "The Fort Worth Fire Department is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected loss of one of our own.[..] Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time."
The Fort Worth Fire Department has been inundated with an outpouring of love and support from neighboring fire and police departments, as well as residents.
