The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office announced that 40-year-old Chassity Brooks of Arlington pled guilty to two counts of murder and was sentenced by the court to 40 years in prison.
The case goes back to November 10, 2021, when Brooks slashed a man's face and neck with a box cutter before stealing his truck. Brooks then drove the stolen truck into a game room on Camp Bowie West, resulting in the death of a man inside.
Continuing the spree, Brooks struck and killed a female pedestrian at a nearby bus stop.
After abandoning the first stolen truck, Brooks proceeded to steal a second truck, leading law enforcement on a chase and standoff before being apprehended.
