Five Arrests Made in Connection with Fort Worth Shooting

The Fort Worth Police Department Gun Violence Unit has announced the arrest of five individuals in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Trail in the Western Hills area.

Upon arrival at approximately 7:38 p.m., officers found several victims with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the complex. The victims, aged between three and 19 years old, suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe.

Following a comprehensive investigation, detectives utilized information from witnesses and surveillance footage to identify the suspects. The incident is believed to have been a targeted shooting directed towards an individual residing near the location, as well as one of the suspects involved.

The suspects, identified as Jamal Piper (17, arrested in Fort Worth), Hayden Bates-Vellmure (18, arrested in Fort Worth), and Jordan Elijah Jackson (20, arrested in Bedford), all from Fort Worth, along with Allan Gilbert (18, arrested in Desoto) and Patrick Biscoe (19, arrested in Dallas) from Dallas, are each facing charges including six counts of Aggravated Assault causing Seriously Bodily Injury Discharge Firearm from a Motor Vehicle, and one count of Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm at Habitation.

The successful resolution of the case was credited to the collaborative efforts of various units within the Fort Worth Police Department, including the Fugitive Unit, Directed Response Unit, Operational Surveillance Team, West Property Crime Team, and the West Patrol Officers who were on duty during the time of the shooting.

All suspects have been taken into custody, with authorities expressing gratitude for the dedication and assistance provided by the involved units and officers.
