On October 4, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Plano Police officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 4700 block of 14th Street. The initial report indicated that a female inside the residence was threatening individuals with a firearm and behaving erratically. The reporting party also informed officers that the woman had made threatening remarks about shooting law enforcement officers.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed the woman holding a firearm. In an effort to defuse the situation, Plano Police officers established contact with her and attempted to negotiate. Despite their efforts, the woman remained non-compliant, and her behavior became increasingly unstable, leading to an officer-involved shooting.
The officers immediately provided medical assistance, and the woman was transported to a local hospital by Plano Fire-Rescue. She was later pronounced deceased. The identity of the female is being withheld until her next of kin can be notified. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
As per department policy, the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. The Plano Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons (CAPERs) Unit and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office are conducting a joint investigation into the shooting.
UPDATE: The deceased female in this incident has been identified as Allison Seitz, a 32-year-old resident from Plano, TX.
