On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:37 PM, Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a water rescue call near the 2700 block of Mountain Creek Parkway at Mountain Creek Lake. A 6-year-old boy, Noah Carlos, was swept under the water while fishing in a creek off the lake. His father, 26-year-old Fernando Carlos, jumped in to save him, but both were swept under and did not resurface.
Dallas Fire-Rescue, Dallas Police, and Texas Game Wardens worked together to locate the pair. Fernando Carlos’s body was recovered around 5:00 PM on Sunday. Search efforts for Noah resumed Sunday morning, and his body was later found washed ashore near Mi Familia Park in Grand Prairie on the west shoreline of the lake.
The investigation is ongoing.
