The Alvarado Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 5:22 a.m. in the 700 block of South Sparks Street. The accident involved a single vehicle and three pedestrians.
According to the preliminary investigation, the three pedestrians were walking on the wrong side of the road near a right-hand curve when they were struck. Alvarado Police and Fire, along with CareFlite Ground EMS, responded to the scene.
One female pedestrian, identified as 20-year-old Aranjeet Kaur, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two male pedestrians were transported to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. One of the men, 22-year-old Karanbir Singh, was pronounced dead three hours after arriving at the hospital.
No information has been released regarding the driver or potential charges at this time. The incident is still under investigation.
