On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 6:29 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) responded to a structure fire at a mobile home park in the 2600 block of Lombardy Lane in Northwest Dallas. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames engulfing the back of one mobile home and two vehicles. As the fire spread rapidly, a second alarm was issued.
Firefighters battled the blaze for over two hours before declaring the fire extinguished at 8:40 a.m. Four mobile homes and four vehicles were damaged.
During their efforts, firefighters discovered the unresponsive body of an adult male inside one of the homes. Despite life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. Three dogs also perished in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
