On October 28, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a reported shooting in the 3200 block of Lombardy Lane in Northwest Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting in identifying the victim. Police have documented the case under number 163794-2024, and the investigation remains ongoing.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Billy Ray Turner, Jr.
UPDATE - November 2, 2024: Darren Cobbin, 31, was charged with murder of Billy Ray Turner, Jr. He is currently in Federal custody for an unrelated charge.
