Prosper Police Arrest Driver After Road Rage Incident Escalates with Handgun and Shotgun

On October 31, 2024, Prosper Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a road rage incident involving a handgun in the 4700 block of W. University Dr. Officers located both vehicles involved and safely detained the individuals. The investigation revealed the altercation began in a business parking lot, where one driver displayed a handgun during a confrontation. The incident escalated when the same driver later retrieved a shotgun from their vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

Officers recovered both weapons from the suspect’s vehicle, and the individual was subsequently arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

To help prevent road rage incidents, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) recommends drivers remain calm, avoid confrontation, and prioritize safe driving practices.
