At its December 16, 2024, board meeting, the Irving ISD Board of Trustees approved two measures set to take effect during the 2025-2026 school year.
2025-2026 School Calendar
The approved calendar includes the following key dates:
- First Day of School: August 13, 2025 (mid-week start)
- Christmas Break for Students: December 22, 2025 – January 5, 2026
- Spring Break: March 16 – 20, 2026 (aligned with Dallas College)
- Last Day of School for Students: May 28, 2026
- No early dismissal days are scheduled.

Singley Academy Start/End Time Change
The board also approved adjusting the school day start and end times for Singley Academy. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, Singley Academy’s hours will align with other district high schools, running from 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM.
The length of the school day remains unchanged, and the school will continue to follow an eight-period block schedule. The change aims to streamline district operations and enhance opportunities for Singley students to participate in extracurricular activities at their home campuses, such as fine arts and athletics.
