Ashley Clement has been appointed as the deputy fire director for the City of Fort Worth Fire Department, becoming the first person to hold this position in the department's history.
In her new role, Clement plans to utilize her extensive budgeting and financial expertise to support fire services and oversee the integration of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) into the department. Her focus will be on meeting community needs while ensuring fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability.
Clement’s career began in 2008 in private healthcare administration before transitioning to nonprofit work in 2011, where she contributed to healthcare and public school systems. Her experience includes statistical analysis, performance optimization, and operational enhancements, as well as managing debt services and grants for public schools.
Since joining the City of Fort Worth in 2014, Clement has held various financial roles, including senior accountant, financial reporting manager, and assistant finance director. She played a key role in launching the Fort Worth Lab, showcasing her commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
Clement holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in psychology. Outside of work, she is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys spending time with her teen daughter, who excels in tennis and music. Clement has also taken an interest in pickleball and humorously welcomes other beginners to join her on the court.
She emphasizes the importance of teamwork and remains dedicated to serving the community while maintaining financial sustainability.
