The Denton Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at an apartment building in the 900 block of Avenue A on Tuesday morning, April 29th.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 6:04 a.m. reporting a gunshot fired in an apartment unit following a disturbance between two men who knew each other.
Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious male victim outside the apartment unit with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving attempts by officers and medics, the man was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Witnesses indicated that the shooting followed a physical altercation between the victim and the shooter, who is reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once next of kin has been notified.
