Burleson Police Make Four Arrests in December 7 Shooting That Left Teen Dead

Burleson, TX - The Burleson Police Department has announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old at Bailey Lake on December 7, 2025. The department expressed condolences to the victims and their families, emphasizing that such violent acts do not reflect the character of the community.

According to the investigation, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:33 p.m. in the parking lot of Bailey Lake. Officers found an unresponsive 17-year-old male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and paramedics, the victim was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. A second 17-year-old male was also injured, sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to another hospital for treatment.

Thanks to swift and thorough investigative work, Burleson Police identified and arrested four suspects believed to be involved in the shooting:

  • Wyatt Lynn Jacobs, Burleson: charged with Capital Murder with Robbery and Aggravated Robbery; bond set at $1.2 million.

  • Joel Fabian Garcia, Fort Worth: charged with Aggravated Robbery and Murder; bond set at $1.25 million.

  • Julio Adan Duarte, Burleson: charged with Aggravated Robbery and Murder; bond set at $1.25 million.

  • Gustavo Gil Jr., Alvarado: charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity; bond not yet posted.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred during a narcotics transaction involving three of the suspects. The department credited the rapid arrests to the dedication and coordination of officers and detectives who worked around the clock to identify and apprehend the individuals involved.

All four suspects are currently being held at the Johnson County Jail. The Burleson Police Department continues to urge anyone with additional information related to this incident to contact the department.
