Johnson County Man Surrenders After Armed Standoff Following Dispute on County Road 1017

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance with weapons call in the area of County Road 1017.

Deputies were advised that an argument over food escalated, during which the suspect allegedly pointed firearms at a friend. Attempts to contact the suspect were initially unsuccessful. As the investigation continued, deputies developed information indicating the suspect had barricaded himself inside a residence and may have been holding a hostage.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was activated and assisted by the Burleson SWAT Team. Following negotiations, the suspect surrendered peacefully to law enforcement without incident.

The suspect was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. While being transported to the Johnson County Jail, the suspect allegedly made threats toward a deputy, resulting in an additional charge of Terroristic Threat. During the booking process, the suspect was placed in a segregated cell. Authorities stated the suspect was believed to be heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.

No injuries were reported.
