Second Suspect Arrested in November 2025 Shooting That Killed 22-Year-Old Woman in Killeen

Casual Savion Winston

KILLEEN, Texas - Detectives have identified and arrested a second suspect in the November shooting death of 22-year-old Tai’Lynn Akaya Wright, according to the Killeen Police Department.

Police announced that 18-year-old Casual Savion Winston has been charged with aggravated assault and murder in connection with the case. Following a review by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, two criminal complaints were issued and an arrest warrant was signed by Bell County Associate District Judge Susan Criss.

Winston turned himself in to the Killeen Police Department on January 14, 2026, and was booked into the Killeen City Jail. He was arraigned the following day and received a total bond set at $1.2 million. Authorities said he is awaiting transfer to the Bell County Jail.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of November 26, 2025. Officers were dispatched around 2:02 a.m. to the 1900 block of Monte Carlo Lane after reports of two people suffering from gunshot wounds. When officers arrived, they found an unconscious female and a conscious male inside the residence.

Killeen Fire EMS provided life-saving measures at the scene. The male victim, 26, was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:47 a.m.

Investigators determined the victims were inside the residence when an unknown person fired a weapon from outside into the home.

The first suspect arrested and charged was 18-year-old Jada Raquelle Levy who was arrested on December 31, 2025.

Police said the investigation remains active as detectives continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
