FORT WORTH, Texas — One person is dead and two others were injured following an early morning shooting Saturday in northwest Fort Worth.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers assigned to the Northwest Division were dispatched around 3:40 a.m. on March 1, 2026, to the 1200 block of NW 35th Street after reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located one victim at the scene suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the location.
Police later learned that two additional gunshot victims had arrived at area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
Preliminary information indicates a large gathering was taking place at the location when an altercation occurred in a parking lot. During the disturbance, gunfire was exchanged. Investigators say the circumstances leading up to the altercation remain under active investigation.
The Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit is handling the case.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim and determine the official cause and manner of death following notification of next of kin.
