On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Euless Police Department detectives were summoned to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Administration building in reference to a Trinity High School educator allegedly having an improper relationship with a student. An investigation was conducted by Euless detectives and based on the evidence identified in this case, it was found that a criminal offense had occurred.
The suspect was identified as Ruben Francisco Martin. Martin is a 29-year-old male employed at Trinity High School as a teacher and an assistant wrestling coach. The victim, at the time the offense occurred, is a 16-year-old juvenile female student at Trinity.
On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, an arrest warrant was issued for Martin by the Euless Police Department. On July 20, 2023, arrangements were made through Martin's attorney to turn himself into authorities at which point he was taken into custody and transported to the Tarrant County Jail on a charge of improper relationship between educator and student (a 2nd degree felony)

HEB ISD release the following statement, "Our educators and support staff work each day to establish and maintain a culture that prioritizes student safety and keeps it at the forefront of all that we do. Inappropriate behavior with a student violates every principle we stand for as a community that supports student success. It will not be tolerated."
