Drunk Driver Fleeing from North Richland Hills Police Crashes into Home which Caught Fire

A man is in jail on drunk driving charges after leading officers on a short pursuit and then crashing into a home in North Richland Hills.

37-year-old Daniel Laseman of North Richland Hills is currently being held at the North Richland Hills Joint Detention Facility.

The incident bagan when officers attempted to stop Laseman ar around 11:00 pm on May 13, 2023.   At that point, the suspect accelerated and led officers on a pursuit going East on Hightower Dr.  After crossing Holiday Ln, he drove through the front yard of a house missing several full-grown trees and crashed into the side of a home in the 7500 block of Hightower.

The crash caused the car to ignite and caught the house on fire.  Fortunately, there was no one inside the home at the time.  The North Richland Hills Fire Department Station 4 which is located just a couple of blocks from the crash, responded and quickly extinguished the flames.

Laseman has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle.
