The Grand Prairie Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic traffic collision that took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 18, 2023. The incident occurred on the 3500 block of E IHâ€30 and resulted in the death of one individual.
According to authorities, at approximately 1:55 a.m., a Hyundai passenger car was traveling westbound on IHâ€30 when it collided with the rear end of a carâ€hauler trailer that was also traveling in the same direction. Sadly, the driver of the Hyundai passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.
Traffic investigators are actively looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision. While the investigation is still ongoing, excessive speed has not been ruled out as a possible factor in the accident. The Grand Prairie Police Department will continue to gather evidence and analyze the details of the incident to determine the exact cause of the collision.
The identity of the deceased individual will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office once the next of kin has been notified.
At this time, it is not anticipated that any criminal charges will be filed in connection with the collision.
