The Plano Police Department arrested the second suspect involved in an aggravated robbery that occurred on July 6th, 2023.
The victim had arranged to sell a firearm to an individual from a gun trading platform. When they met in person, two suspects pointed guns at the victim and stole the firearm he intended to sell.
The suspects fled in a dark sedan, and the victim called 9-1-1. Plano Patrol Officer Vaughn observed the suspect's vehicle and attempted to pull them over. The suspects did not stop and continued to evade the officer. The pursuit ended in the 900 block of K Avenue. After abandoning the vehicle, both suspects ran in opposite directions.
Officers lost sight of them, but a perimeter was quickly set up. Officer Vaughn confirmed that there were no guns in the vehicle, which led officers to believe that the suspects were still armed and dangerous.
Additional officers, a K9 officer, drone operators, DPS101, and social media were utilized in the search for the suspects.
One of the two suspects, Doquajanika Ruff, was arrested carrying multiple guns, including the victim's. Ruff has been charged with aggravated robbery, unlawful carrying of weapons, possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and theft of a firearm. She is currently detained at Collin County Detention Facility.
The investigation continued, and yesterday, Plano Detectives arrested the second suspect, Altonio Brown, a 31-year-old resident of Grand Prairie. He was charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
Both suspects are being held in the Collin County Detention Facility.
