Three Juvenile Suspects Arrested in Lewisville Burglary,

On July 13, 2023, Lewisville Police Officers swiftly responded to a reported burglary at an apartment complex in the 200 block of East Southwest Parkway. A resident had alerted authorities that his truck had been burglarized, with multiple valuable items stolen, including a handgun and cell phone.

The incident was captured on surveillance video, which revealed that three young males had carried out the burglary earlier that morning. Armed with this footage, officers were able to gather crucial evidence to pursue the culprits.

In a surprising turn of events, later in the day, the victim successfully tracked his stolen cell phone, which was found pinging within the same apartment complex. Waste no time, patrol officers, accompanied by detectives from the Street Crimes Unit, swiftly converged on the area to apprehend the suspects.

Their diligent efforts paid off as they located three young males matching the description of the burglary suspects near the complex's pool. With a combination of evidence from the surveillance footage and their on-site investigation, officers and detectives were able to establish probable cause linking the three males to the earlier burglary.

One of the suspects, identified as Kayontez Dillard, aged 17 and hailing from Shreveport, LA, was taken into custody. Meanwhile, the two other suspects, who were minors, were detained for their involvement in the vehicle burglary and theft of the firearm. Subsequently, the juveniles were transferred to the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center.

Kayontez Dillard is facing serious charges related to the burglary, and the court has set his bond at $10,000, reflecting the gravity of the allegations against him.
