In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 1:00 am, emergency responders from Keller Fire Rescue and Police rushed to the intersection of Highway 377 and Mt. Gilead Road in response to a major accident that left one person dead and another with serious injuries.
According to authorities, a passenger car was reportedly traveling at an excessively high rate of speed when it collided with the rear end of an 18-wheeler. The impact of the collision was severe, causing catastrophic damage to the passenger car and resulting in devastating consequences for its occupants.
Tragically, the driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, the passenger who was also in the car at the time of the accident was transported to a Grapevine hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
Lanes of 377 were reopened around 7:00am following Keller PD’s accident investigation.
