In the early hours of July 31, 2023, at around 1:11 a.m., Crowley Police Officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 300 block of Palm Street following a distressing 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting.
Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. Acting promptly, they administered necessary first aid until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel arrived at the location.
The injured individual was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals have reported him to be in stable condition.
In the aftermath of the incident, Crowley Police conducted an intensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As a result, one male suspect has been taken into custody by law enforcement. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time, is being held at the Crowley Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence.
Authorities have assured the public that this was an isolated incident, and there is no imminent threat to the safety of residents in the area. The Crowley Police Department is continuing its investigation to gather more details about the incident and the motive behind the shooting.
