A devastating accident occurred in the early hours of August 6, 2023, when a black 2008 Nissan SUV plunged from a bridge onto the roadway below in Southlake, Texas. The incident, which took place on westbound SH 114 and Kimball Ave, resulted in the loss of a young life.
At approximately 1:00 am, Southlake Police and Fire units responded swiftly to the scene after receiving distress calls reporting a single-vehicle accident. According to initial witness accounts, the driver of the Nissan SUV was traveling westbound on SH 114 before reaching the Kimball Ave bridge.
For reasons yet to be determined, the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the bridge, sending the SUV hurtling down onto the roadway in the 200 block of North Kimball Avenue below. Tragically, the vehicle's sole occupant, identified as a 28-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
