Upon their arrival, officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. The injured individual was swiftly attended to by emergency medical personnel and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. As of the latest update, the victim is reported to be in stable condition, bringing a glimmer of hope to this otherwise harrowing incident.

Just moments before the law enforcement team was set to apprehend him, the suspect, identified as 54-year-old Billy Ward of Lewisville, dialed 911 and confessed to his involvement in the shooting. Ward now faces serious charges, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1.
