On October 10, 2023, 34-year-old Keli Borish was arrested by Fort Worth Police and charged with improper relationship with a student and indecency with a child with sexual contact.
According to the Keller ISD, Borish had served as a paraprofessional employee at multiple campuses within the district from 2016 until May 2023. Subsequently, she worked as a student teacher at Trinity Meadows Intermediate School until mid-September 2023.
A letter sent to parents of students at Trinity Meadows Intermediate School stated that the allegations against Borish dated back to an incident in 2017 when she was working at another, unnamed school within the district. The school was not specified by Keller ISD.
In response to these allegations, Keller ISD has affirmed its commitment to cooperate with the authorities during the investigation. Additionally, they have urged parents to reach out to the Fort Worth Police Department if their child has any information related to this case.
"In Keller ISD, we believe that safety and security inspire trust and the confidence to thrive, and we want to assure you that our employees undergo thorough background checks prior to being hired and are regularly evaluated throughout their employment," the district said in statement.
