Lewisville Police Arrest Suspect in Copper Theft Case

On October 11, 2023, Lewisville Police Patrol Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1200 block of FM 407. A vigilant citizen had alerted authorities after observing a vehicle loaded with copper and various metals in the area.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers successfully located the suspicious vehicle in question. An extensive search of the vicinity led to the discovery of a suspect who was walking nearby and was subsequently identified as the owner of the vehicle.

An ensuing investigation by law enforcement determined that the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Christopher Hillman of Dallas, was connected to a recent burglary at a local business. The investigation revealed that the suspect had allegedly stolen copper wiring during the burglary.

As a result of their findings, Christopher Hillman was placed under arrest and subsequently charged with Theft of Materials valued at less than $20,000. He is currently detained in jail on a $10,000 bond.

In connection with this recent arrest , it has been revealed that the suspect has a lengthy and varied criminal history spanning several counties in Texas.

Records indicate that Hillman has been involved in multiple legal issues throughout Denton, Dallas, Tarrant, Parker, and Collin Counties. His extensive history of arrests includes charges ranging from criminal mischief, criminal trespassing, theft, to possession of drugs. Hillman has also served time in prison.
