On Friday, October 27, 2023, at 1:05 pm, officers of the Forest Hill Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Bisbee Rd and Crawford Ln.in Forest Hill regarding a pedestrian who was struck by a passing Union Pacific train at the railroad crossing.
Officers arrived on scene at 1:07 pm to find an adult female with serious injuries and began rendering first aid. Minutes later, the Forest Hill Fire Department and Medstar arrived on scene, assumed patient care, and she was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment.
The railroad crossing was closed for a short period of time but is currently open and causing no additional traffic concerns.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
