On Sunday, November 5th, at approximately 3:33 pm, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a major accident involving a motorcycle on the north service road of I20 at FM 1189 in Parker County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers, the incident unfolded when the driver of a small pickup truck attempted to make a left turn onto FM 1189 from the westbound service road. The pickup truck collided with a motorcyclist traveling eastbound on the service road, and preliminary reports suggest that the pickup truck failed to yield the right of way.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the injured motorcyclist, a 71-year-old resident of Millsap. Despite their efforts, the motorcyclist's injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck emerged from the accident without serious injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway.
