A major accident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon on southbound Highway 377 near FM 1187, just south of Benbrook. Responding swiftly, the Benbrook Fire Department and Police Department, alongside the Cresson Fire Department and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, attended to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a two-vehicle collision, resulting in both drivers sustaining serious injuries. Paramedics, in response, called for a CareFlite helicopter, which landed at the scene to airlift one of the drivers to a Fort Worth trauma center. Simultaneously, the second driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Tragically, the 84-year-old man from Granbury, identified as one of the drivers, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office crash investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the incident.
