Armed Robbery Suspects Apprehended After Months-Long Investigation in Midlothian

Matthew Lee Harvey and Timothy Lloyd Poole II

On May 14, 2023, at 8:49 PM, patrol officers from the Midlothian Police Department responded to a distress call reporting an armed robbery at Texas Best Smokehouse & BBQ, located at 2220 Plainview Road in Midlothian.

According to statements from the employees present during the incident, two males brandishing handguns entered the establishment, demanding money from the cash registers. The suspects, both concealing their identities with hoodies and masks, fled the scene on foot, heading towards Walnut Grove Road. Despite an immediate and thorough search of the area, officers were unable to locate the individuals at that time.

Since the commission of the crime, Midlothian Police Investigators have been diligently working on the case. Their efforts culminated in obtaining arrest warrants on November 20, 2023, for two suspects: Matthew Lee Harvey, a 37-year-old white male from Carrolton, and Timothy Lloyd Poole II, a 21-year-old white male from Dallas. Both individuals are currently held in Denton County Jail for multiple offenses committed in other jurisdictions.

The charges related to the Midlothian armed robbery have been officially added to their legal troubles. Both Harvey and Poole face charges of Aggravated Robbery, classified as a First Degree Felony. The bond for the Aggravated Robbery charges has been set at $100,000 for each suspect. Authorities are now working on the extradition process to bring the accused back to Midlothian to face these charges.
