On Friday, December 1, 2023, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Killeen Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stagecoach Road. The incident involved a white 2021 BMW SUV that was traveling southbound on Trimmier Road at a high rate of speed.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders discovered the sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as 48-year-old Emily Santiago Figueroa, suffering from serious injuries. Killeen EMS promptly transported Figueroa to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center for medical attention.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the BMW SUV had left the roadway, colliding with a concrete retaining wall on the south side of the intersection with Stagecoach Road. Despite immediate medical intervention, Figueroa's condition remained critical, and she succumbed to her injuries.
Justice of the Peace Nicola James officially pronounced Emily Santiago Figueroa deceased at 8:52 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
