On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the Mansfield Police Department arrested Christian Rewoldt, a 65-year-old man, on charges of possessing child pornography, a third-degree felony. The investigation began after detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on August 23, 2023. Information received indicated that Rewoldt had downloaded multiple files containing explicit sexual material involving minors.
On Thursday, August 30, 2023, the Mansfield SWAT Team executed a search warrant at Christian Rewoldt's residence. Officers discovered various electronic devices suspected of containing child pornography. These devices were collected for forensic analysis. Officers also found a laptop bearing a Crowley ISD sticker, revealing that Rewoldt had a contractual role as a psychologist within their district. Rewoldt was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Detective Peacock is seeking the public's assistance to determine whether there are any potential victims who may have had contact with Christian Rewoldt. While there is no evidence at this time that the suspect had inappropriate contact during his contractual work at Crowley ISD, the department is releasing this information out of an abundance of caution based on the nature of these charges.
Rewoldt also worked at other local school districts in the past, including Mansfield ISD.
