On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, just before 7:00 pm, emergency responders from Everman Police, Fire, and Rendon Fire were dispatched to a traffic collision in the 600 Block of Wichita St. The incident involved a vehicle striking two pedestrians.
Both pedestrians were promptly transported to local hospitals. One of them is reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Following the investigation into the accident, it was determined that both pedestrians were heavily under the influence of alcohol. They were walking in the poorly lit roadway, attempting to cross when the collision occurred. The driver of the pickup truck was unable to avoid the pedestrians.
