Three Individuals From Plano, Dallas and Euless Arrested and Indicted Collin County Sex Trafficking Conspiracy

William McKinnley Garland and Jalen Alexander Bobo

Three individuals from North Texas, William McKinnley Garland, 40, of Plano; Jalen Alexander Bobo, 24, of Dallas; and Robberta Marie Khan, 27, of Euless, have been charged with sex trafficking crimes in the Eastern District of Texas. The charges include coercion and enticement, with Garland and Bobo also facing charges of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.

The charges stem from a lengthy investigation by the Plano Police Department into a sex trafficking organization allegedly led by Garland. Evidence suggests that young women were recruited as escorts but were later forced into commercial sex through violence and threats. The organization is believed to have operated throughout Collin County.

A federal search warrant was executed at Garland’s Plano residence on December 11, 2023, leading to his arrest. If convicted, Garland and Bobo could face a maximum term of life in federal prison, while Khan may be sentenced to up to 20 years.

U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs emphasized the collaborative efforts to combat exploitation, stating that the indictment is a crucial step in dismantling an organization profiting from commercial sex, often involving threats and coercion.

Plano Police Department Chief Ed Drain commended the collaboration among law enforcement agencies and expressed satisfaction with bringing violent offenders to justice. He assured continued efforts to identify and prosecute those involved in such crimes and provide justice to victims.

Chad Yarbrough, Dallas FBI Special Agent in Charge, highlighted the severity of human trafficking and emphasized the importance of collaboration in identifying and arresting alleged traffickers. The investigation aims to uncover additional victims, providing the necessary services and support for their recovery.

Investigators believe there may be other individuals connected to the organization. The public is urged to contact the Plano Police Department at (972) 941-2044 with any information related to the case or potential victims.

The investigation is a joint effort between the Plano Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“I am extremely pleased with the collaboration and diligence on the part of our Plano Police Detectives, our FBI partners, and the United States Attorney's office in this investigation. These investigative efforts brought several violent offenders to justice and restored the peace, tranquility, and safety, not only to our community, but to the victims of these egregious crimes. Our continuing work will leave no stone unturned in an effort to identify those who aid in perpetrating these offenses and to provide assistance and justice to those who fall victim to these offenders.”, said Plano Police Department Chief Ed Drain in a statement.
